Preschool
The
whole experience of the child is important to us. We create an environment that fosters appropriate opportunities for growth and
development of a 3 - 5 year old child's self awareness and self-esteem, social skills, pre academic skills, and community awareness.
Schedule: Three Sessions (fall, winter, spring) are offered during the year.
Preschool meets Tuesday and Thursday mornings, from 9:00 am to Noon.
Exceptions are made for holidays and snowdays.
Cost:
The 12-week fall semester costs $250 for Arts Center members and
$300 for non-members.
The 12-week winter semester cost $250 for Arts Center members and $300 for non-members.
The 4-week spring semester cost $85 for Arts Center members and $100 for non-members.
Siblings
receive a reduced rate. Partial scholarships are awarded based on
a fee schedule used by Hamilton County Community Services. Scholarships
are made possible by generous donations from private individuals
in the local community who realize the importance of providing the
absolute best in educational opportunities for our children.
Transportation: Bussing is provided for students in the town of Indian Lake. Students
are picked up at the Indian Lake Central School parking lot at 9:00
am and returned there at 12:15 pm. Students from other towns will
need their own transportation.
Activities: The preschool program provides play time at sand, clay, puzzle,
game and other centers, group reading time, circle time for sharing
stories, weather observation, singing and learning games. Other
activities include snack time, art and craft projects, physical
activity, visiting speakers and occasionally a short field trip.
The program is designed to promote the development of a child's
social, motor, cognitive, emotional, language and expressive skills
in a supportive environment.
Snack: We support healthy food choices and foster a positive learning
environment for children to eat and enjoy a well-balanced snack
(and learn good eating habits). The preschool teacher will provide
a snack calendar and snack suggestions with the dates each child
is responsible for providing the snack.
Family Involvement: Family support is a very important part of the Arts Center Preschool
Program. We ask that at least one parent sign up to come in and
help for one day of each semester. Your time and effort will be
greatly appreciated and you will be able to observe the learning
environment first-hand. Other adult family members are always welcome
to sign up for "parent helper day." Parents are also invited
to become members of the Arts Center's Preschool Committee to help
support the program and make decisions about its future.
To register your child for preschool at Adirondack Lakes Center
